INTRODUCTION TO BASIC AMERICAN ARCHITECTURAL STYLES
This brief introduction to some of the basic American Residential Architectural Styles is intended to help you identify and deepen your knowledge of many of the residential Architectural styles used in America and around the world. We have touched on just a few commercial styles, but since this website is mainly for residential house plans, we have concentrated our efforts on home designs.
We begin our introduction during the New World era, although there are architectural references to European and other worldly styles where appropriate. We hope this helps you in clarifying your favorite styles as you embark on your quest for new house plans.
